If I’m being honest, I love the start of the New Year! I’m all about a fresh start and clean slate. Even if it’s just totally a mental game you have to play with yourself, I think it’s a great time to focus on some self improvement. And while the new year is often associated with fitness goals, maybe this is the year to upgrade your personal style! I know from experience that it can make a huge difference. As a former skinny jeans addict, the idea of wearing even a slightly wider leg scared me. After a slow migration to taper, then slim, I landed at straight fit and think its perfect. Slim enough to not lose your shape, but no more calf huggers! This pair of 90s Straight Jeans from Abercrombie is my go to. I think you can dress it up with a nicer sneaker or loafer, or down with a casual sneaker and you’re good to go. My favorite colors are the brown, black wash, or light wash!

I love looking for easy ways to add unique textures into your outfit. Suede is a timeless classic. Unfortunately, it also tends to be really expensive. I’ve really enjoyed this vegan suede shirt jacket from Abercrombie. It’s soft to the touch, and I think it looks really nice. They have a couple of different styles in it, but this zip up is my favorite. I have the brown, but the olive green and black are also really nice. Any of these can be a versatile piece in your wardrobe

I feel like this was the year I sort of learned how difficult it is to be stylish in the winter. I always criminalized summer as the anti style months. But, the frigid winter temperatures put the utmost priority on outerwear. It keeps you warm, but it also sets the tone for your whole outfit. Enter the wool topcoat. This stylish piece is long enough to cover most of your body. It also has wool and cashmere – two materials that retain heat. And, it is a much more elevated look when compared to a puffer coat. This one from Madewell features a relaxed fit. That means it will be at home in casual outfits, or if you want to dress it up. A win win!

When talking elevating your look, athletic sneakers might not come to mind! But I see so many guys out to dinner in a golf polo, jeans, and running shoes. Swapping out your Hokas for a pair of leather sneakers could be a massive improvement. Will they be as comfortable? No. Will they look 1000x better and more intentional. Yes! I’ve been loving these Handball Spezials ever since we saw them all over the place in Europe. They’re simple and versatile, but will look great with casual outfits.

I think vests get a bad wrap. They’re a solid layering piece especially in those in between seasons. I think where a lot of guys go wrong is with brand or corporate logo vests. Instead, opting for a neutral piece can look stylish. Throw on a nice chunky sweater for a perfect cozy look!

You can’t go wrong!

When it comes to accessories, men don’t have as many options so you’ve gotta make it count! An automatic watch is the perfect option to show some personality and elevate your look. There are so many great options out there, but the Citizen Tsuyosa is one of my current favorites. It’s simple, but the bracelet really sparkles.
