As we look forward to all that will come in 2024, I thought it might be helpful to look back on my 5 most worn pieces of 2023. Looking at the things I wore most helps me get a picture of pieces I should invest in more of going forward. I also think it’s a good chance to see if I have some holes in my wardrobe, or need to mix it up a bit more! And, since I wore these pieces constantly last year, you can be confident if you invest in them you’ll love them as well!
Koio Capri Sneakers
First up, the item I certainly wore the very most, my white Koio Capri sneakers. These are a total swiss army knife – and I wear them with everything. I feel like I can dress them up or down and they always look great. If you know me, you know I love my Koios. I actually wore them so much I set a goal to wear them less in 2024 – I might have a problem!
These are definitely an investment piece. They retail for just under $300. But, having worn them constantly for a year with little damage to show for it, I know they’ll be a worthy investment!
Abercrombie Essential Popover Hoodie
Second on the list is a cozy casual staple – my favorite value hoodie. The Abercrombie Essential Popover Hoodie has been a closet staple for me the past few years. Even at full retail price of $80, it’s a solid piece. But, if you can find it on sale, sometimes as low as $40, it’s insane! These things are so soft – and I reach for it constantly lounging around the house. They also have approximately 1 million colors, so you can definitely find something you like.
90s Straight Jeans
The third item of my most worn pieces of 2023 is another Abercrombie piece – my favorite pair of denim! I wore the 90s Straight Jeans constantly in 2023. The light wash color was my favorite, but I also have them in brown and black wash and love them too. I think straight fit is a perfect transition from skinny jeans if you want something slightly wider legged! This style has actually recently been renamed just the “Straight Jean.” But, as long as you make sure the wash you choose is 99% Cotton and 1% Elastane, they should be the exact same!
Montauk Seawell Crew
2023 was a year of knitwear for me! And that is something I definitely don’t see changing in 2024. This Montauk Seawell Crew sweater from Longwharf Supply was one of my favorites that I wore constantly. The navy color is so versatile and the chunky knit is a standout piece, even on its own. This is a cool brand as well because the main cause is ocean preservation, so you can shop knowing your money is going to help some cool things!
Heritage Cotton Crew
And last but not least, late in the year I went on a bit of a J. Crew kick! While I got a number of pieces I loved from there, the Heritage Cotton Crew was a standout! I initially got the navy striped sweater, and then proceeded to also add the grey and off white as well! What I like about this piece is it is a nice midweight. I feel like it is substantial enough to wear on its own. But, it’s also not bulky so its easy to layer as well. And, it’s 100% cotton so it actually breathes nicely if you’re a guy who tends to run warm!
