4 Places to Shop for Men This Spring

Fashion

February 22, 2024

If you have taken a walk recently around any shopping mall, I can guarantee you that you’ll see about 80% of clothing stores are geared toward women. Brands know women shop more, so they’re smart to market to them! But, it can sometimes make finding great places to shop as a guy a challenge.

While there are some amazing small shops around, a lot of guys prioritize convenience and accessibility. All of these stores will have locations in major cities, so you just might be lucky enough to score some in-person shopping if online ordering and sifting through returns just isn’t your thing. Here are 4 places to shop for men this spring, and some of my favorite current pieces from each store!

Abercrombie & Fitch

If you have followed me for any length of time, it’s no secret that I’m a fan of Abercrombie. I’m equally impressed by the transformation that has taken place from the days of middle school with shirtless models outside the stores and shirtless men on shopping bags. Pretty much just lots of shirtlessness and strong cologne!

Nowadays, Abercrombie is perfectly geared towards people like you and me in their 20s and 30s looking to dress on trend, but in an age-appropriate way. Here are a few of my top favorites from Abercrombie!

4 Places to Shop for Men This Spring: 90s Straight Jean from Abercrombie

90s Straight Jean

The 90s Straight Jean is my go-to for daily wear! It’s that perfect not-skinny but also not super wide denim.

Camp Collar Shirts from Abercrombie

Camp Collar Shirts for Spring and Summer

I have several Camp Collar shirts from Abercrombie! I love these because they are a super comfortable way to dress up an outfit for a date night out or if you’re feeling like wearing something just slightly more elevated than a t-shirt. Because they’re made of a linen blend, they are lightweight and comfortable for spring and summer! They’re also the perfect shirt to snag for a tropical vacation. Check out more vacation essentials here!

4 Places to Shop for Men: Abercrombie Essential Popover Hoodie

Essential Popover Hoodie

The Essential Popover Hoodie is quite possibly one of the softest, most comfortable Hoodies that you’ll ever wear. Ask my wife — she is constantly stealing mine!

Madewell Men’s

My wife almost exclusively shops at Madwell, but ever since their men’s line dropped in 2018, I found it to be a little bit lacking. They have recently breathed new life into the brand. They’re notably collaborating with Aaron Levine as a consultant. He was the brand director at Abercrombie during their recent revival. His influence can definitely be seen in the styling and pieces that Madewell Men’s is now bringing to the table! Here are a few of my recent favorites!

1991 Straight Leg Jean

The 1991 Straight Leg Jean has a great fit! Similar to the 90s Straight jeans, this denim is the perfect in-between for that transition from skinny jeans to a looser fit, without going for a full-on wide-leg denim!

Camp-Collar Sweater Polo

This camp-collar sweater polo shirt is such a unique piece. A blend of two of my favorite pieces, it’s a sharp looking piece that I think you can dress up or down. Just a perfect piece for spring that will also transition to summer!

Garment Dye Work Shirt for a light spring layer

Spring is all about light layers for those in between temp days! I love this Garment Dye Work shirt for a great layering piece!

Massimo Dutti

Massimo Dutti is a European based brand that specializes in elevated basics. It is under the Zara umbrella, but I have found the quality to be really nice. Because of its European roots, I have found the prices to be much more expensive in the US than in Europe – which is a bummer. But, I think you can still find some good pieces even with the slightly elevated prices.

Twill Bomber Jacket

I’m always looking for a stylish jacket to incorporate into my outfits that isn’t a lightweight puffer (as practical as those can sometimes be). And this twill bomber jacket is a great piece! You can dress it up or down with whatever you’re wearing — and it will be much more elevated than grabbing your black puffer.

Wool Blend Knit

For another great layering piece, this long sleeve wool blend knit polo is a great piece to throw on over a button-down shirt to transition your workday outfit to a date night outfit! I just ordered one for myself and can’t wait to wear it!

Knit Polos

The best way to elevate any short-sleeved look is by adding a collar! You probably know this if you play golf and you’re required to wear a collared shirt, or if you think back to what your mom made you wear on picture day. But my favorite way to add a collar is to do it with a knit polo! Instead of looking like you are wearing a gap polo from middle school, this knit polo sweater will make you feel like the adult that you are.

J. Crew

Last but not least, J. Crew is an American menswear staple. Thought it fell away for a time–or at least I didn’t shop there…streetwear phase am I right?–J. Crew is back with a vengeance! J. Crew is a go-to of mine for timeless and classic pieces. Here are some of my recent favorites from J. Crew!

Heritage Cotton Crewneck Sweater

The Heritage Cotton Crewneck Sweater is a great-fitting and comfortable sweater! I personally love the navy and white striped one I own.

Plaid Harrington Jacket

This plaid jacket is a super fun piece to switch it up from a basic, plain-colored jacket. In my opinion, plaid is always a timeless choice and transcends trends. But, this piece also brings some unique flair that will be so fun for spring.

Cotton tuck-stitch cardigan-polo sweater

If you want the perfect blend of a refined but cozy piece, this Cotton tuck-stitch cardigan-polo sweater fits the bill! The knit is chunky but the overall silhouette says refinement. The brown buttons add a relaxed flair to the piece. Wear it buttoned with trousers for an elevated look, or unbuttoned with jeans for a relaxed casual spring vibe.

These 4 places to shop for men are some of my favorites! As always, I hope you found this helpful!
